CMA refers merger of toy suppliers for in-depth phase two investigation

The CMA has referred VTech’s acquisition of LeapFrog for an in-depth phase two merger investigation.  This follows the CMA’s announcement earlier this month that it would refer the merger for an in-depth investigation unless VTech offered acceptable undertakings to address the CMA’s competition concerns regarding the supply of toddler electronic learning toys, child laptops/tablets and child electronic reading systems in the UK.  As VTech has not offered any undertakings, the CMA has therefore now referred the merger.  Click here.
