CMA opens investigation into the modelling sector

The CMA has opened an investigation into suspected anti-competitive arrangements in the UK modelling sector which may infringe Chapter I of the Competition Act 1998 and/or Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. Click here.

CMA provisionally clears Poundland/99p merger

The CMA has provisionally cleared the anticipated acquisition of 99p Stores Limited by Poundland Group plc following a phase 2 merger investigation. The CMA has found that although, along with Poundworld, the companies are each other’s closest competitors, after the merger they will still face competition from other value retailers such as B&M, Home Bargains, Wilko and Bargain Buys, along with Tesco and to an extent Asda.
