CMA issues statement of objections to model agencies and their trade association
The CMA has issued a statement of objections to five model agencies (FM Models, Models 1, Premier, Storm and Viva) and their trade association (the Association of Model Agents). The CMA alleges that the agencies agreed to exchange confidential, competitively sensitive information, including future pricing information, and in some instances agreed a common approach to pricing. CMA issues statement of objections to galvanised steel tank suppliers
The CMA has issued a statement of objections to 5 galvanised steel tank suppliers. This follows the settlement announced in March 2016 where 3 of the suppliers admitted to having agreed to fix prices and to rig bids for contracts between 2005 and 2012. Click here.
Articles 101 and 102
The European Commission has found that Italian abrasives producer Pometon S.p.A. breached Article 101 by participating in a cartel to coordinate steel abrasives prices in Europe. The Commission has imposed a fine of €6.2 million. In April 2014, the Commission adopted a settlement decision concerning the participation in the same cartel of Ervin, Winoa, Metalltechnik Schmidt and Eisenwerk Würth. Pometon chose not to settle and consequently the investigation continued under the normal cartel procedure. Click here.
The European Commission has cleared the proposed acquisition of SABMiller by AB InBev. The clearance is conditional on AB InBev selling almost all of the SABMiller beer business in Europe. Click here.
