Crisis Management

A business can find itself subject to intense scrutiny from law enforcement agencies, regulators and/or the press and public or facing fundamental threats to its ongoing operation, sometimes with little or no warning.

The repercussions of this, including criminal charges, civil proceedings, reputational damage and insolvency, can be very serious.

Our team can advise on the measures to take when issues first arise, the strategic approach to be adopted and the conduct of any internal investigations to ascertain the facts and identify potential liabilities (ensuring that this is covered by legal privilege to the extent possible).

We have extensive experience of liaising with law enforcement agencies and regulators, and representing parties in the adversarial or inquisitorial proceedings which may follow (including highly complex long running multi-party proceedings).

We work closely with colleagues across the firm, such as those in the Bribery & Corruption, Employment, Pensions & Immigration, Corporate Recovery & Insolvency, Financial ServicesHealthcare, EU & Competition Law and Reputation Management teams, to provide a comprehensive and seamless service to clients where the nature of the issues arising in a case require additional specialist input.
