Finding Out Financial Information Yourself

If you are concerned that your husband or wife or civil partner will not be honest in disclosing their financial position, it is very important to obtain advice as soon as possible.

The guidelines as to what you yourself can do to obtain information which belongs to your spouse or partner have changed and you and we have to be very careful not to infringe their right to privacy and confidentiality.

This is a complex area and you should proceed with caution.  By copying documents or information on their computer you may be committing an offence.

We have particular expertise in this field with partners Tanya Roberts and Miranda Fisher co-authoring a book entitled "Privacy and Disclosure for Family Lawyers" which was published in 2011.
