Advised Puma Investments Limited, as manager of the Puma VCTs, on an investment to fund the production of biodiesel from used cooking oil.
Advised on a joint venture formed by French engineering contractor CNIM and construction company Clugston in connection with the construction of a £68 million waste-to-energy facility to convert 255,000 tonnes of municipal domestic waste into 20MW of electricity for the City of Sheffield.
Advised the owners of the Westmill project in Oxfordshire on the development of the largest combined solar and wind farm in the UK which included acting for the option holders who have the right to buy the assets from the developers.
Advised Isle of Wight Council on sea bed leases with the Crown Estate for use as a test site for tidal electricity generation with the potential to generate 20% of the Island’s electricity requirements.
Acted for a leading sustainability investment fund manager on outsourcing arrangements and for an LLP with anticipated funds of £1.1 billion for investment in clean technology.
Advised the Energy Technologies Institute on a project involving the design and build of a test facility for wind turbine systems which is set to provide a world-leading prototype development and testing platform for wind turbine drive trains and nacelles (Project Fujin). Also advised the Energy Technologies Institute on the licensing, development and hosting of a national asset database of potential offshore CO2 storage sites.
Advised Artemis Intelligent Power (owned ultimately by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) on agreements relating to research, development and technology licensing associated with Digital Displacement® hydraulic power technology.
